Terms and Conditions

This page summarises the Terms and Conditions which apply to the package that we offer.

SheetCNC is a kit for home assembly. It is not a turn-key machine. do not provide assembly services for the kit.
Additional parts are required to produce a complete, working CNC machine. A list of suggested parts is given in documentation which is available for download direct from SheetCNC’s designer. The parts are readily available and we currently estimate that the cost of purchasing them will be £400. We cannot guarantee that prices have not changed since publication. Prospective purchasers should satisfy themselves that those prices remain realistic.

Hardware Assembly Support

Purchasers are presumed to have at least a moderate level of DIY experience. Prospective purchasers should review all the documentation provided, including the instruction manuals, and satisfy themselves that they have the necessary DIY skills to assemble the project. If in doubt, please contact us for advice before purchase.

Support during assembly of the SheetCNC kit will be by email. Other means may – at our sole discretion – be offered if more suited to the customer’s needs. Support will be supplied quickly whenever it is needed, unless exceptional circumstances intervene, and will be made freely available to the original purchaser until such time as they can reasonably be expected to have completed the kit. Before contacting us for support, the purchaser should please familiarise themselves with the documentation supplied to ensure that the issue has not already been addressed.

UK-DIYcnc is not a general DIY helpdesk. While we will do our best to support all SheetCNC builders of all skill-levels, our support package cannot overcome issues of lack of basic DIY experience or shortage of tools.

Hardware supplied with SheetCNC is guaranteed for one year from the time of delivery against defects in manufacture. Failures caused by mis-use, overloading, wear and tear, damp ingress, or accident are not covered by guarantee. Our liability is limited to the cost of the failed item of hardware and the shipping of a replacement to the original delivery destination of the SheetCNC kit. Our liability excludes fitting, labour and any other consequent losses however incurred.
In the event of the failure of any hardware supplied by – whether that hardware is under guarantee or not – we will always aim to get a replacement to you quickly. We’ll initially request images of the fault to be emailed to us. Exceptionally, we may ask you to return the part to us so that we can best evaluate how to prevent a similar fault occurring on both your replacement part and on any other customer’s part.
We’re happy for SheetCNC owners to hack their machines, if they wish to do so, and our guarantee is not voided by such modifications provided that they are modest in scope and do not adversely affect the structure of the machine. Extensive modifications should be discussed with us first.

We’re happy to take returns, subject to the following conditions.

If you have purchased by mail-order, such that the kit was paid for and delivered to your premises sight-unseen, then you can return the kit to us for full refund without having to give us any reason. We will refund the full cost of the kit. Any returned kit must be in unblemished original condition, having never been assembled nor partly-assembled, and in its original packing. Return carriage must be arranged and paid by you. The return package must reach us in office hours. You must use a signed-for, tracked and insured service and you must advise us immediately of the tracking information so that we can arrange to meet the courier to take safe delivery of your kit. Alternatively you can return the kit to us in person, using your own transport. If the kit is lost or significantly damaged during the return process you will be liable for that loss. The intention to return must be notified to us by email within 14 days after delivery and the return must be completed within 14 days of that notification. We will not accept delivery of a kit if you return it in non-original packing without agreeing this with us beforehand. Be aware that your return shipping costs will be significant (considerably in excess of £100) due to the size and weight of the packages. So if you have any doubts about the suitability of the kit we would strongly advise that you do not purchase by mail-order but instead visit the factory and evaluate a kit before committing to purchase.

We are more than happy to give you every chance to view and evaluate a kit prior to purchase. We can meet you at the factory where you can view a kit and experiment on a working machine. You may also be able to purchase direct from the factory and take the kit away with you on the same day if we have stock – and the saving you make on delivery charges would likely be sufficient to pay for the cost of a day’s hire of a suitable collection vehicle and the fuel needed to come to the factory – resulting in no net cost to you and a safer and more confident transaction overall. If you’d like to do this, please get in touch and we’ll arrange a time to visit.
